Really WHO is the BEST owner in BMO?

We have had many competitions in Baseball Mogul with some of the TOP owners. Some owners get stuck and have to rebuild while one team does a great job throughout the whole league and it is too hard to keep up. Some people make bad trades. Some rebuild too early. Well even the best league in mogul Cash Money League commished by jokerswild you really can’t tell. One of Baseball Moguls top owners has a way to try and determine it.

This is how the league would go:

-ONE year league.
-Everyone one goes for it no rebuilding.
-Either A) Have a custom database or B) Use the players in the MLB.
-It will be an equalized league.
-There would be 10 sims a day.
-30 good GMs.

Now I will take a moment to describe the teams. There will be a draft that would be held online. There will be two rounds a day. Once you get all your players then all the owners go for it. So this not only involves the talent for signing people and trading but HUGE amount for scouting as well.

However one thing I question is there are always people who have good years and bad. So maybe have three different leagues one after another and add the mogul points. I would have to talk to khan about this one and see if he likes that idea.

Well this league will take a while to get started and before it is started I want to get 30 GOOD owners who will join. Also I would be looking for a commish I am willing to recruit but I believe that it would be better to have a different commish

Owners who would join:

You can count Cardstrump in.
I like the idea of mixing a fantasy baseball draft with simulation. Have a random order draft with all starters including 5 man rotation and closer and setup guys and regular lineups around the league. Then make a blind bid on the remaining players that would finish out a teams roster after the draft. We could do an online draft like what they have in Yahoo for fantasy baseball. I think we should try to make it for 5 seasons though. Short enough that you can't rebuild and long enough to counter a lucky season.

Some additional details-

-As far as I know (and I'll ask Joker to be sure), all teams in the league have the SAME LEVEL OF SCOUTING before a league starts. So everyone will have the same scouting and the GM that builds the best team will have to do it through skill, not scouting rank. How good of a judge of talent are you?

-Also, you have to finish in positive (or zero) cash to win the league. Even if you win the WS but have negative cash, you'd lose the challenge. So this league will test your financial management skills.

-So far, we're leaning towards a CUSTOM database. This means that NONE of us will know how the guys in the league will play during the season. If we use the BMO database, most of us know which players play well during the first season (despite their ratings) and it would be more of a "who can remember the most" contest rather than who is the best predictor of future performance.

-A little bit about the draft. In the past, the major obstacle in doing a DRAFT type league has been the amount of time it takes. This is mainly because people don't post their picks for days and then they post someone who's already been drafted. Doing the online (via an AIM chat room for example) will get rid of the time delay. We'll be able to cover about 2 rounds an hour.

Also, I think I have answer to the "you idiot, you picked someone who has already been drafted" problem that wastes lots of time. Whenever a player is drafted, the league commish or a pre-selected volunteer will turn the "trade block" dot on that player to RED. All non-drafted players will remain green. This way, when its your turn to draft, you can go to "Find Players" and look for the player you want. For example, you can search for all Shortstops who have 70 or higher contact. You'll be able to tell which of them have not been drafted because they'll have a green dot by them.

-I like the idea of drafting once and then simming the first year 3 times JMO. That way, we can account for the Brady Anderson (a guy who hit 50 homers one year and never hit more than like 25 in any other year of his career) effect.

-I was thinking of leaving the salaries where they are. So for example, if your first round pick is Pedro Martinez, you better be able to afford his contract. Any thougts on that?
