This is where I suggest the padders rant about random things. Do it HERE instead of responding to every post that everyone makes with the same response they made.

if your league is successful then your post count just runs away

lol this is a good idea. It seems like every time I go to "view todays new posts" about half of them are from boomboom and there all like 2 year old threads  I remember when I used to play it would sometimes get annoying when players would just constantly pad in an active league

Yeah, I do the View New Posts thing and get annoyed by useless posts.

It would be good in the View New Posts option if you could exclude posts that are more than a year since the last one or that only have new posts made by "certain people".

Post padding is no different to someone who posts a 20 word statement by making 20 posts of 1 word each - no, that isn't a challege!

Actually, here's an idea for Clay. Get rid of the Post Count completely. It serves no purpose except as an "incentive" for superfluous posting. That way, people would only post if they actually had something to say ( what a concept! ).

I'm starting a campaign!

They have a better chance of winning this year, then the Tigers. Not even with a new veteran closer, an injury prone slugger, or tons of young mediocre talent.

:o Yeah, I see where you're coming from with the rediculous posts. But I don't think that it will take away peoples incentive to post really dumb stuff. If anything, I'd expect people to do it more, just to make people like yourself, and I, mad. Not to mention you'd take away Boom Booms reason for constantly posting everyones problems...Hes a great help around BBM and BMO, i'm sure (never played it, but interested in doing so once i scavage enough money). He even helped me out a bit when I was new. While I understand your plea, I think it would hurt the community, even if it's the most rediculous reason.

thankyou....i will do one thing...I will no longer pad old threads in active forums....but in dead forums that is my dinner:D

Lifeandletdie, if you ever interested in joining BMO...there are a few good leagues to join...one of the oldest leagues around...OIL has a couple of openings....it was Nystienbrenners old league he created a long time ago....i rebuilt it...and now Chipperjones is keeping it alive(the hardest part) this league is great and you should check it out....

in that league i have won 9 straight AL EAST championships...but with no world series wins...actually the past 7 years...i didnt even get past the first round.....:(

The league is very competitive....also AGML (jmarters league is (the oldest and longest simming league in BMO. it started in 2001 might have a few openings....as for my league, we are at 30 owners and full....

Probably the best league and hardest league in BMO is IL30 ( another league started by Nystienbrenner) but Michealg123 has built up a great crop of owners...and it is probably the hardest league in BMO... I am unsure how many owners are actually in baseball in reallife in that league...I am sure that at least 5 work for MLB teams!

Richie sexson and adrian beltre will both hit 40 homers and jamie moyer, joel pinero, eddie guardado, rafael sorieno, will have bounce back years and the mariners will win the division.

If the Mariners play ball the way they played from 2000-2003. we will see a force to be reconed with...

their a few Playerz that need to perform...these players will have a big impact on the team....

Boone-
Moyer-
Eddie G.
Raul(can he stay healthy?)
Ichiro(repeat?)
Pineiro( is he ready to be the ACE)

These are the players that will decide what the mariners will do this season...either win 75 or 90 games....it is up to these...not Sexson, Beltre or Reese.

I think it is also up to the two rookies in the lineup (miguel olivio and jeremy reed) they aren't or at least i don't think they are gonna put up allstar numbers but if they can be solid that would really help the end of the lineup.

It depends on arron sele and feliz hernandez.

I don't know if they should have to many unexpierenced starters in there rotation through, like bobby madritsch, felix hernandez, etc. It could hurt them in the playoffs.

I don't like to disrespect others, but i think he shouldn't be a starter anymore. i think he's more suited for a bullpen position. I would however like to see Aaron Sele make the team. As far as Opening day starter I think Moyer will get the nod again he's still very productive at his age.

He probaly is more suited to be in the bullpen, but I don't think he'll want to be in the bullpen on the mariners if he has the possibility of making a rotation on another team... Moyer might get the nod but if pinero does good in spring training he could also be a possibility to be the opening day starter.

I would pad, but I have so many better things to do with my time :) I've avoided padding all the time I've been at bbmo, and yet somehow I still have nearly 1,500 posts ... ****, I'm a mod on another forum, and still only have 3,000 posts after two YEARS. I can't IMAGINE having 8,000 posts here, or (as on another forum I saw the other day) 25,000 posts (that forum actually had a 25,000 posts "club", which had 8 members, one of whom had reached that point in four months! Say does anybody know what position Ken Griffey Jr. is going to play this year? Last year the reds talked about moving him to 1st, left, or right to hopefully save him from more injuries.

well chip i'm the guy with the 8000 and soon to be 9000 posts.
i was with mogul for a long time before i ever padded. it started 1 day because steiny said to me he we both made the top 50. I had no idea what he was talking about. then he challenged me to get to the top 10.(at that time it was about 600) before you knew it we were going crazy. right now most of my stuff is in my own league.(not pads) i have to answer questions and make polls and whatever i cant get someone else to help me with.

i have alot of time on my hands sometimes because of my job. sometimes i work nonstop and dont have time for about 2 weeks but other times i'm home all day and this is my favorite thing to do.

I wasn't trashing you ;) Some could say I pad occasionally at .400 when I post a really detailed dynasty thread with a new post for every week of college ball (I've had some threads go 100+ posts very quickly). In fact, I have over 1,800 diary posts there, so I know the feeling of just loving hanging out on a message board posting and such ... that's how I got Arlie Rahn's attention and wound up getting to beta-test games, and then when they needed a TDCB mod, I got that job too.

Of course now that I think about it, if their off topic forums counted toward your post count, I'd probably be pushing 4,000 to 4,500 posts ;)

Clay, while you're working on 8.01, can you make a patch that will repair Ken Griffey's hamstrings?

Junior doesn't like first, and between Casey and Dunn (who is improving there), there wouldn't be lot of opportunities to play there. He might get one start a week at 1B, though, as I don't think that has been ruled out.

What has been discarded is the plan to move him to LF or RF. He'll once again start the season in CF for the Reds. (http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050318/SPT04/503180426/1071) While Kearns or Pena could probably do a fine job there, Dave Miley and Dan O'Brien feel that the issue is not how much running Griffey does or how many plays he makes per game, but rather his all-out style of play (which they couldn't change even if they wanted to). In which case, they might as well keep Griffey and Kearns where they are each most comfortable.

Here's a thought: what's worse, the padder or the tool who reads the padders posts?

Thank you,
JonnyMo (aka The Tool)

Pineiro is no Tomko....Sexson when healthy he hits for power...so if he stays healthy there should be no reason why he shouldnt hit 35-50 homers...

Beltre got into his own grove...remember he is only 25. Also--thru age 25 he compares to Ron Santos and Eric CHavez thru the same age...also Ruben Sierra(when he was good) and Andrew Jones... Santos is a HoF probably the next ballot....and Chavez is one of the best 3rd basemans in the game right now....Beltre 25(maybe 26 now) is coming into his prime, the reason why he didnt hit 40 homeruns before last year was because he was 18-24 years old. He just hadnt developed yet...

Pinerio has never not one 10 games when he has played a full season. Last year he was injured and in his first two years he never pitched more than 76 innings.

Jamies got another good year in him, because of his style of pitching. He might still be pitching at age 50 , because he has proven you don't need to pitch hard to be effective. He fast ball goes from 80-84 miles per hour and he still gets batters out.

He hit 48 homers in Dodger Stadium... the best pitchers park in America. Now you say he wont even hit 30. thru the same age...he compares to Future HoF member Ron Santos, and probably the best 3b in the American League in Eric Chavez. (stat Wize). I will provide the link below... before you challenge me...please back up your stuff by showing me proof he wont hit 25homers but not only will he hit for average.

With Sexson, he is completely healthy now....and being a right handed hitter will be a challenge in Seattle...his defense and his power thou will overcome...will hit around 35-50 homers based on his past.... He is a smart hitter...and the injury he had...a shoulder injury is completely healthy.

here is the link to Adrian Beltres Page at Baseball Reference dot com.

Beltre is so simular to Santos...here is Santos Career averages which he took off at age 24 and if you compare Santos numbers to the era he played in....his numbers would have been inflated if he played today...so 48 homers isnt out of the question for Beltre again...

Hard to compare. It's 1 great year. McGwire hit 49 HR his rookie year, would you compare him to Ruth or Aaron? If he duplicates last year and have 2 or 3 consistant years, then compare.

Bored so I thought I'd do some random facts

In one minute...you can post twice
in one hour...you can post 120 times
in one day...you can postr 2880 times
in one week...you can post 20160 times
in one month...you can post about 80640
in a regular 365 day year, you can post..1051200 times
So at 6:56 on March 27th 2005, you can post...so assuming the forums started on June 3rd 2001, this means you could have posted 4000320 times since these forums started. Haha good look getting that!

Johnson pitched like a madman for the Yanks. I'm predicting a 20 win season for him.

One thing's for sure, i didn't like how the field looked for the sox on O-Day. Damon made a funky play and Ramirez...well we all know What he's worth as a fielder. He's a pure DH, but Ortiz probably sucks even more defensively :)
