if you have a problem you either e-mail Clay or you post it on the board and wait until someone responds (this is easier).

What I mean son is I don't apprecaite beta testing a product that was supposedly near completed yet appears not to be and the developer doesn't have the time to stop by his OWN board and at least give a quick post as to what is the next progression for the product. Sorry, if this seems a bit harsh (welcome to the real world) but where I work if we released software and than decided not to respond to customers at all, someone would be getting fired. That's what I mean!

Beg pardon? Clay has made over 100 posts since the game went gold two weeks ago.

I have to admit that I am turned off by what is going on here too. I see plenty of posts where people are asking "is this fixed?", "can this be fixed?", etc but I never see a post from Clay in regards to it.
I see where he posted info about the first program update and I guess there have been a couple more updates made available but he never posted it on here. As someone who is considering trying BBM - each passing day it looks more and more like I won't try the program.
On a side note....
Is it just me or does this bulltein board never show the correct info under "last post" when you are on the main page - sometimes it looks like no one has posted in a forum for several days then I go into it and there have been dozens of posts

Something that has been brought up before is that it is highlt preferable that problems get fixed than the designer answer peoples questions every 20 minutes. As long as there are fixes coming i feel that the tech support is more than adequate. This board is filled with people who are very educated in this game and baseball in general. For the price and quality of this game i don't think anyone should be complaining.

Answering questions every 20 minutes, or even every few hours, might be too much. However, it is not at all unreasonable to expect a readme or fix list when a patch is issued. That should be standard operating procedure.

Clay surfs the boards once a day for atleast an hour. Considering most people post bugs and errors that have already been brought up there is a lot to go through. After he posts a patch he says what has been updated and fixed. Usually the first people to get it bring up other errors or bugs that may have resulted and he gets to work on them right away so he can put out a new patch. He may not always post that hes addressing your problem but check the forums and make sure someone hasn't already posted about this problem. Sports Mogul isn't a large company with hundreds of programmers that can jump on the problem right away. Its usually Clay doing it by himself.

These patches are unofficial and haven't been posted on the board. So I can't point you anywhere. I'm not on my computer that I have mogul on but is a fix list anywhere in the mogul files itself?

Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good. You get patches out quick but you don't get the fix list right away.

When you get the update there is a window that tells you what has been fixed from the previous version. I think it's a nice little feature and caves everyone a lot of time.

To think, this all started over a fix list. It is true that the patches are unnofficial. It is also true that Clay works his butt off. But I do agree with you guys when you say Clay dosen't actually respond to posts enough, so you never know if hes watching or not. But like it was stated, we do have many knowledgeable people on the boards that do know what they're talking about. Now only if there was a programmer or two that could help Clay out a bit.

Ever? The patches were released a week ago. Since when did people here acquire ESP and can read Clay's mind and actions. I would prefer if people who " really" have no idea whta Clay has been doing comment on Clay is doing this or that you have no real idea actually and stop acting like you do. I blame myself I was warned about past product support of this game it seems it was quite accurate.

The fact of the matter is that many people here do know what clay is doing. If you'd go around and look at his posts you'd have a pretty good idea yourself.

Also, some people have his Instant messanger screen name and regularly get e-mails from him.

I just noticed on this thread that someone was considering not buying the game due to a "low" level of customer support.
I am experiencing one particularly nasty bug right now, that seems mysterious and probably hard to debug. I think that there could be more of an effort on the developer's part to communicate with the people having the problem.
Having said that, I feel obligated to mention that I think there is relatively very good customer support here, and a long history of this. That is definitely part of the reason I was so quick to purchase 2k6. If you were to see the forums during 2k5, you would see that users' concerns are consistently addressed, and that Sports Mogul regularly asks for feedback from its users.
I was looking at the forums of another baseball game out of curiosity, and I saw plenty of serious problems and much less communication from the developers.
The game is also very reasonably priced, it has a really outstanding simulation engine that can be frustratingly realistic. It also has a much more user-friendly interface than other bb games I have played.
I am speaking about 2k5 of course, since I haven't really been able to play 2k6 yet, but at this point I am still confident that I will be able to play this game before too long, and that I will get far too many hours of enjoyment out of it for my own good.

Yes...but that IM screen name is highly classified information...only top level Mogul supporters have access to it. ;)

Deja vu?
This was when Clay responded to rants, now he works instead of responds. Most of what Clay said in this forum 2 years ago still stands today.

it's a smart idea IMHO, I'd rather that clay fix the bugs than posting and nothing getting fixed, unfortunately stuff happens and things have to change. I believe that there are skilled people here who have and could help out others in the future. (ie boomboom, scorey, and Jeff Olsen for example), i also understand that they don't work for sports mogul, but they are the veterans here.

I think i said this about a week ago somewhere. There are too many people here that know what's going on to complain. Besides, they really crunched to get this game out on time and i think they improved the product pretty **** well.
Also, it seems like there are a lot of problems because there are a lot of posts but many of them are repeats. If people would READ posts to see if their problem has already been mentioned maybe it would be easier for Clay to read through them and post but as it stands there is just too much garbage for anyone to shift through and get and work done.
