This is a roster file with correct salary info for just about every major league player. There may be a few small mistakes, but overall I think it looks pretty good.
Copy it to here: C:\Program Files\Sports Mogul\Baseball 2006\Input\Players. Then rename it "2005Rosters.csv" and when you start a new game in the 2005 season, it should have all updated salaries.
The salaries came from this website, which seemed pretty accurate: http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/2005_01_11_mlbcontracts_archive.html
The updated roster, with all players on the right teams, was courtesy liveandletdie I think.
If you want to be really realistic, there are some teams paying players to play for other teams. It's kind of confusing, but here they are:
The Rangers are paying Alex Rodriguez 67M over the next 5 years.
The Dodgers are paying Shawn Green 10.5M for 1 year.
The Rockies are paying Larry Walker 17M for 2 years and Mike Hampton 1.7M for 5 years.
The Marlins are paying Mike Hampton 8.5M this year.
The Cubs owe Sammy Sosa 8.425M over 2 years.
The Mets owe Roger Cedeno 4M this year.
The Yankees are paying Javier Vasquez 9M over a period of 3 years.
The Royals are paying Benito Santiago 1.075M this year.
I found it was pretty easy to make a copy of A-Rod (for example), give the copy a salary equal to the money the Rangers owe him (in this case 13.4M for 5 years), make the copy's predicted stats really horrible, then have him injured for 10 years. So the Rangers pay what they owe at a reasonable rate, and the copy just sits on the DL.
Or, if you prefer, you could add 8.5M to Juan Pierre's salary, since the Marlins agreed to pay some of Hampton's contract so they could acquire Pierre. There's no one simple way to account for this phenomenon.
