Would anyone like a roster set that is accurate as of opening day...with top prospects added...Or do you all prefer rosters updated often with all the MLB transactions?

Opening day with prospects would be great.

Frequently updated rosters with top prospects and also better attributes that result in more realistic lineups and pitching staffs by CPU generated teams. There are too many minor league level rookies that end up in starting lineups for example the D-Backs keep on putting Carlos Quentin in left field instead on Luis Gonzalez.

Not much feedback here...So are you all content with what is out there? Or should I proceed with a project?

I'd love them...

But, If anything, I just want Accurate Vitals of major league players, and accurate major leaugue rosters. Then, I would have to kiss your feet if you added prospects.

But the first thing is all i really want.

i would rather have a set roster true to opening day. that way you can start the season with real rosters and play from there.

What I think he means is the vital stats for all the prospects not in the lahman database. Like the height, weight, hometown etc. There is a way to put these in, but I haven't completely mastered how to do it yet. You have to go to one of the master files and put in all their information. They were put into the game for me, but many of them showed up as Designated Hitters. You'll have to ask Clay how you should put in the numbers correctly if you wanna do this. Or i'll volunteer to do it if I can completely figure it out.

To fix the DH issue, try editing the fielding.csv in the lahman52_csv subdir. Add your guy's record (copy and paste, or create your own), and make sure column 6 is set to the appropriate position.

Accurate to players abilities. Lots of players are off. I'd like to see Vitals that resembles a players potential as a ballplayer. And by that, i mean Major League players, Not minors.

Ahh...yes...the term "vitals" threw me off on that one...By vitals I was thinking height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate...things like that...But you're just wanting to see more accurate player ratings...

Anyone care to post exactly who is showing up as a DH? This problem can easily be remedied

Scorey, I was responding to LiveAndLetDie's question about inserting new prospects not in the lahman database. If you only insert the prospect into the master.csv his position will show up as DH even if you've specified it in the appropriate row. Mogul must look at the fielding.csv when building the file to set positions for the players.

Heh, i couldn't care less about Height, weight...

I'm just used to calling them vitals because in Leagues that's what we call them.

I like accurate rosters, because it makes the game more interesting and so far there hasn't been any major trades or anything so I think making accurate rosters would be way better.
