With the inflated armor and protection spells at Gray Areas I'm thinking about a game without Stoneskins -- more like the Flag Wars and early Quest Games.

Then I noticed there was a lot of confusion about brawling, bleeding to death, Exceptional Strength and the like. So I figured as long as you are removing a couple of spells, why not simplify the rules even more for a one-shot game.

I think Quest really needs a game where Newbies can feel comfortable. Both in terms of not being under-powered and also in terms of feeling like they know the rules. (Such confidence is power in any rules dispute and can lead to the veteran player 'winning' such a dispute and the newbie never coming to another game).

So, this poll is a list of things I'd consider getting rid of at a one-shot game.

At the least, we might want to take a hard look at the things that get the most votes.

Quest (http://www.quest.org) is a "boffer" live-roleplaying game that I helped create when I was in college.

After a long hiatus, I ran a game with some friends a couple years ago, and this forum was the most convenient place to talk about rules modifications and plot ideas.

We're planning to run another weekend-long game -- probably in Fall 2008.
