I've noticed this before and I'm not sure if anyone has brought it up, so here goes.
In extra inning games won by the home team, the final margin should only be one run unless the game was ended by a home run.
For example, in the following situation (FDL, April 3, 2003 CHN at COL), the final score should have been 5-4 with Rolen's double only officially scoring one run.
BOTTOM OF THE THIRTEENTH
Deivi Cruz struck out. <--->
The Chernobyls guarded the lines.
Ty Nored pinch hit for Scott Buckley. <--->
Ty Nored doubled down the left field line. <-2->
Chuck Knoblauch flied out to center. <-2->
Jim Edmonds was intentionally walked. <-21>
Scott Rolen doubled in the left field gap for two RBIs. <-2->
ROCKIES WIN: 6-4
