I think something is a little peculiar with this patch. Specifically, I'm wondering if some players' contact ratings are being displayed incorrectly. For example, George McConnell has hit .351, .354, and .334 in the last three seasons, yet has had a contact rating in the mid-70's (it is now 73) throughout that time period. Also, Arizona has a guy with a contact rating of 74, who, in nine years as a full-time starter, has never hit below .320. What makes this even more odd is that this is with a league further tweaked from my recommended settings to give a league batting average of around .259 every year. Also, this league contains 27 batters with contact ratings of 95 or 96. Of those 27 guys, noly two cracked the top 10 in their league in batting average (one at #9 in his league, and the other at #10 in his league). Meanwhile, the top five hitters in the AL this season?
.373 (con: 73)
.372 (con: 75)
.346 (con: 76)
.330 (con: 76)
.315 (con: 75)
Something is amiss here.
I had that problem as well. and what I did in order for a fix was correct the predicted at bats and made them full season (500+)
So far the change seems like it works.

I have this problem even when a player's predicted at bats are already over 500. Although it has been a very rare occurence so far, I have had guys with overalls in the 50s and contact in the 60s lead the league in BA from time to time but then I rarely ever see them on the leader boards again (I've only tested this with real players though). I also noticed that the ratings in the player editor don't always match the ones in the scouting report either.

If you look elsewhere you'll see a thread about a guy who didn't get a hit the entire season.
I over-corrected this bug, causing other low-contact players (like Rob Deer) to get too many hits.
Fixing this in 8.23. This may also bring SkyDog's 2005Stats.txt file back to normal.

Also guys peak/current abilities seem out of line with thier actual batting /fielding ratings.

Anyone else getting this?
What team are you playing? It could be the Latitude/Longitude data (which is used in calculating how much teams like the Cubs and White Sox compete for fans).

Here is what I have seen. I dont know why the city my team shares (St. Louis) isn't doing it but the others are.

When playing historical seasons, the New York Giants have the generic "new" as their city. Since you guys have split New York City into it's boroughs, the Giants should have Manhattan as their city.

It's working fine for me, on a game from 1983 to 1988 started in Version 8.21.
Try going to Tools->Advanced and clicking 'Import Cities'. That should fix bugs with games starts in 8.15 or earlier.
(And let me know, so I can make this happen automatically in the code).

Do i have to install 8.22 before so this to be fixed?
I installed 8.23 and i'm in 1986 with the Mets and i'm averaging 55.601 tickets per game with fan loyalty at F, the most expensive tickets in the league and my level is mogul....
