Man, We've had quite the debate in "baseball mogulers" (up to 38 replies now) all about
REVENUE EFFECTS CAUSED BY THE INCREASING OF "LEAGUE CASH" AS REWARDS.
The original idea was to offer awards (or possible some type of compensation program due to total revenue OR standings...)
what I have to know is HOW significant an effect ADDITIONAL cash has. It seems (by looking at countless figures) that it has little effect at all. Players are bought out, money is spent, it always seems to even out...so i just don't understand why it would have such an effect. for a test i set a team to 1000 cash from 100 and the league's cash stayed at "normal"
adding 900 makes no difference?!?!

Adding 900 is only 30 points per team. That won't make a difference.
I ran some tests, and I finally had budget kick in when I made my league cash average up to about 175. Clay changed it so that the revenue decrease occurs when revenue is >150 or less than <150, not >or<75 like it was before.
I think ;)

Tom has the right idea.
It used to be a dramatic change when average team cash rose above 75 points.
But to give Commissioners more leeway in manipulating their leagues, we now don't do anything until average cash is less than zero, or greater than 150. And the effect is now less than it used to be.
When cash goes above 150 the teams all start getting fewer fans to the games to help reduce overall cash. The opposite happens when cash goes below zero.

You mean to say that if a team is in debt they will draw more fans that doesnt make to much sense. I guess depending on how drastic this is, but this could lead to teams blowing the budget and getting bailed out by increased attendance:(

It does not matter whether a particular team is in debt or has lots of cash.
It is the average cash across all the teams in the league.
So if there is one or two teams in debt, but the rest are all cash positive, nothing will happen.
We did see some craziness happen early in BBMO, when people would drive their teams into massive debt (-900 or more). That number was large enough that it DID have an impact on the league attendance, so the other teams all found themselves with lots and lots of revenue. This was the driving reason behind the creation of the budget limit.
The Attendance Effect is a feedback mechanism designed to help keep the game in balance. There are lots of feedback mechanisms built into the simulation that help the game stay stable. This one is more apparent than most, because of the way commissioners can directly affect the cash in each team's bank account.
Thanks for asking,

Once again a quick response and one that leaves me enlightened, thanks:D

One other reflection on the Attendance Effect.
I said how we had problems in BBMO early on.
It used to be that you could have as much or as little cash as you wanted.
It turned out that if you drove your team far enough into debt (-3000 or -4000 points I think) you could actually cause an overflow and Roll Over your cash! Suddenly you would find that instead of being in debt, you had 4000 points in the bank.
So this would cause an immediate reversal in the Attendance Effect. Suddenly, instead of having large attendance surplusses, all over the league people would stop going to the games! Overnight!
It was pretty crazy.
Since then, we limit your cash in the bank to -999 to +999 to prevent rollovers, and we added the budget limit (and expenses set to 0 when in debt) to cut back on people's ability to do crazy things with their team's bank account.
