Not a rant or rave but I have to wonder why a guy like this keeps hanging on...and how his wrist hasn't been replaced by a metal bar :D Out of morbid curiousity, I signed the guy just to see how low his health rating can go

Sad to think that through the years he was the Houston staff ace, despite the 22 injuries worth mentioning on the transactions list.

Somehow his longest time on the DL was only 2 months.

I still don't understand why the hea;lth rating gets factored into overall rating. It leads to guy's being let go by the AI, whereas a human owner can get a LOT of play from a guy, even if he is injured alot. Another "cheat" for the human owners...

Agre wholeheartly! That should most definitely be taken out of the overall rating equation.

Or maybe the impact of health on the overall rated reduced a lot. Maybe a player should have his overall rating reduced by 1 for every 5 or fraction thereof that he's under 70 health. So a guy who normally would be a 90 if we didn't consider his health would be an 89 if his health was 65-69, 88 if his health was 60-64, 87 if 55-59, etc.

I totally agree, it should be factored into contract negotiations, but not whether or not they start when they're healthy.

or a good rating to put in is "Heart" or "Determination". I think this would be a cool rating to tinker with.

I really like the idea of having injury clauses in contracts, like Mag's contract with the Tigers.

I hate giving a guy 10 million or more a season and then having him go down for year. Oi that is frustrating!
