I've just finished updating major and minor league rosters with some ratings adjustments. The original version had pitching ratings way too low. I used the roster created by Outsider, but modified the ratings. I didn't touch the salaries, and may have missed a few players here and there, but I created some (ie Taguchi) but deleted some that heven't played for years and couldn't find in the minors, which I also tried to clean up a bit as far as ratings. Let me know if I need to fix anything.

good update. Very good job on the rating changes expecially with Jhonny Peralta on the Indians.

Great Roster, but i think roger clemens is to dominating... ;) He won a total of at least 20 games in 2005 all the way until he retired when he was 45. In 2005 for me he won 30 games which is rediculious... inprovement over his previous rating, but i think its a lil to high, besides that it looks good.

Yeah, I noticed that with Clemens, too, but I placed a high emphasis on this year's performance and his stats are amazing. I figured that he would decline quickly like other high-rating older players but he doesn't seem to. I'm also finding that the top closers (93-100 range) drop big time in ratings after the first season simulated, much like Gagne did in BM 04 and 05.

Good job, sardins. I really like these rosters, these are the ones I've been using lately. Question, though. I'm curious as to how you calculate a players ratings. You said you put a high emphasis on this seasons stats, but is there a specific formula you use, or do you kind of guess as to what a player should do? For example, how would you rate Jae Seo right now? He's never been a dominant pitcher, but since coming back he's thrown over 30 innings giving up only 2 or 3 earned runs.

I really wanted this year's performances to be reflected in the game so I placed a high emphasis on this season's stats to date, but I didn't just pro-rate them over an entire season. I looked at recent trends like the last 10 games, or month, or whether historically they have been first half or second half stars (ie. Ichiro always has a monster second half), and basically had to decide if their year end stats would be better or worse. It's not perfect, though, as a player could have a 3-homer game and not hit one the rest of the season, so I had to examine their previous years as well. What really bothered me, though, was the minor leagues and their ratings, so I settled on a format that would have low 70's to mid or high 70's in AAA, high 60's in AA, around 65 for A and lower for Rookie Ball. As for the minor league rosters, the minor league section of mlb.com really helped, as those players sometimes change hands quite frequently. I actually enjoy projecting stats for baseball and football more than playing simulations themselves.

In your baseball 2006 folder which is located under program files, then sports mogul. Talk to me on aim at rollsroyce11991 if that doesn't answer your question.
