St. Louis and Chicago in the Federal league tied for the wildcard spot and the computer simulated a one game playoff. The game was played in Chicago. It was my understanding that teams do not get any money in the playoffs. I am St. Louis and I noticed that it cost my team two points to play the game. Is this a correct result?

This is a bug. Teams are charged 1/162 of their total payroll for each regular season game (so that payroll costs are spread throughout the season) and I forgot to exempt any one-game playoffs. We'll be fixing this when our next major revision of Mogul Online is posted.

Aren't one game playoffs counted, statistically at least, as part of the regular season?

They are counted as stats for part of the regular season.
But, like playoff games, you don't have to pay your players extra to play in them.
Right now, if Barry Bonds is getting paid 81 points per season, it will charge his team exactly .5 points per game of the season (whether he plays or not).
However, this amount is currently also charged for 1-game playoffs and it shouldn't be. This is the bug we will fix.
