Hi. In my edited rosters, a lot of players start the 2005 season with a contract that expires the next year. My question is, how can I make a player have the contract that the drafted rookies have where there's a few years before arbitration, or like a minor league deal. It seems that if a player has a contract already, I can't make them have a contract like that.

If you go into Commissioner Mode, you should be able to click on the player, and then hit "Edit Player".

When the "Edit Player" screen comes up, you can extend the contract to the appropriate number of years.

Go to commish. mode.

delete the contract amount and leave it blank. then edit the contract to the length you would like. This will allow you to put him in the minors for the appropriate minor league salary. The only down side is there's no arbitration.

Make sure the trade clause box in un-checked... when you sign guys off the pool they like to have a no trade clause and in other rosters I have seen the roster maker has made this mistake and you will have random players in your roster with no-trade clauses.
