Ok heres a question , i'd like some advice by anyone who cares to chime in...

I was playing as the mets in a league, and was negotiating a trade with another team for a day or 2. it was a small deal, no real big names involved, we were very close and i needed to add something more to get the deal done..

I was to throw in lenny harris a player with very little value as he needed a backup infielder...some how i accidently hit PIAZZA!!!

I was in a rush and hit the send trade button and didnt realize it till he immediatly accepted the trade...( I know before you say it, im an idiot, and i know its my fault , and those are the breaks)

But my question is this: It was obviously a mistake, anyone including he knew i would never do that. I informed him and his response was well a trade is a trade and he is not going to correct the mistake.

I guess i just feel he people should show better sportsmanship, i know it was my mistake but he obviously took advantage of the situation, i know most would allow the trade to be reversed.

Am i living is a fantasy world or do some agree with me. Of course none of this will get me Piazza back, but at least id know im not being irrational

thanks
Joe

That guy is a jerk. He should have reversed the trade.

You are not living in a fantasy world. The guy should do the right thing and revsere the trade. A guy offered me Delgado for nothing. I declined it because I knew it must have been a mistake. To be sure, I sent him the same trade right back. He declined it. What goes around comes around. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

That's the problem with the online world. Since no one is held responsible for their action online, as most are hiding behind a handle and have no personal information about them revealed, they can feel free to be absolute jerks. There's no one there to stop them, and if they are punished in the end, they just leave, never to be heard from again, unlike the real world.

I for one would have reversed the trade. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it never hurts to be on another GMs good side. You never know when it will pay off.

Who is this guy? What team is he controlling? He must be one real big jerk to be that much of an as*. Normally...most of us would just return the players. It's not like this beta testing will mean life or death to that guy.

As much as I would like to sound like Mr Nice Guy, I must pass this time, an let my Jerk like self come out.

In the Real world, I forget if it was the Celtic or the Bruins, either way they had a high priced super star sign to a deal, but thier fax machine broke an they where unable to send it to the league office, an hence the trade/signing did not go through.

( now that story could be Boston folklore for all I know , but it is a story you hear alot here)

Now if the trade that you say happen, an I was the guy on the other end.............. well yes I would have took it an told you to take a hike when you wanted the trade back............

But then repressed guilt feelings would have popped up an I would have ended up trading all my good players for your scubs to make up for your mistake..........

errrrrrrr.......opps sorry I started to drift........

Anyway.......

Chalk it up to a mistake........be glad that your not paying right now an tring to get the most bang for your real buck.

But what happen to you does bring up a good point/idea

Would there be a way to add a feature so we the paying player could veto a trade, now it would mean allot of things I know but in baseball after the buy-a champ Marlins dumped thier team the year after there was many problems because of it. ( I do this myself every 3rd year of my team to get rid of high priced guys that I end up trading for nobodys)

Well just my babble on the subject.......
