Beta 88 League - Ugh

I control the Houston team in Beta 88 (tied for Wild-Card lead right now! :) ), but I have issues with the owner of the Boston Red Sox. Take a look at his line-up:

Other relievers just normal Boston relievers (Rich Garces, Rod Beck, etc.)

Not surprisingly, his winning % is pretty close to .800, his team BA above .310, and team ERA below 3.50. I'm not impressed.

And because of the team's success he can raise ticket prices to +90% and still turn in 33,000+ a game, so he isn't very much off budget right now.

Now, I would guess he achieved these players by cheating... although of course I can't be 100% sure.

What does everyone else think? Am I being a jerk?

you are absolutely right. Sometimes I think the disparity between the large and small market teams is too much. I would be especially upset if playing this game wasnt free.

As the game works now, winning with NY or Boston or Atlanta or LA doesnt require much effort. Especially Boston who can raise prices through the roof and still sell out, thus taking in a huge profit.

Too bad there is no way for players to not sign with a certain team based on roster spots (playing time)

Look in the headlines and transactions and see if they made any lopsided deals. If so then you'll know they are "cheating".

I am playing Montreal in this league and the trade of Guerrero for Trot Nixon was already done when I signed up... I think that now trades can't be done before the first season begins, so this probably won't be able to happen again. Doesn't help me much though, I still don't have Guerrero.

Check to see if he made any lobsided deals. If so he will be removed for running two teams. I caught soemoen blatantly cheat. He dealt all the Royals best palyers and 9999 points for like 0
