Hey guys,

I have another US History project. Its not that hard but just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

Heres the question:

What were some political and economical decisions and or circumstances that lead to the civil war? How did these events/decisions evolve to contribute to the conflict? What were the consequences and long-range impact of these decisions and circumstances?

I have a good idea on what i am going to do but always love more ideas. I'll put up a outline later on today to show you what i am thinking dont have too much time right now.

In the mean time, any good ideas on what i can write?

I know i can talk about things like the Missouri Compromise and other stuff. Like i said i'll post an outline on what i am thinking later on.

All ideas appreciated,

thanks!

How about a bit on the social and economic differences? The North being more industrialized and the South being the more rural area led to a lot of hard feelings also.

Well how about Gen. Sherman being a war hero when what he did, even in his own time, was not highly thought of. By todays standards he would be a war criminal, and if caught and brought to trial he would be indefensible. He'd be executed for crimes against humanity. Look into Custers military history beyond Little Big Horn and you may be surprised what you find about him too. That may also be a good angle. Then vs. now.
