What does everyone think about having the Games AI act as a commissioner in order to counter unfair trades and cheating between two human players. Just as the game currently makes value judgements for computer driven trading, it could value each trade and approve or decline it as appropriate.
For example if the computer determines that one side is receiving players whose value is greater then let say 15% of the opposing value (barring unusual situations such as payroll / revenue concerns) the the computer commissioner would block the trade.
This should not only help unfairing trading practices, but also reduce the impact of errors in trades.

On a side note... anyone in Beta 41 need an aging, but productive first baseman... Fred McGriff, 21 points... ChiN

I agree that there is potential for those in society to try to do anything underhanded to get ahead. The thing people forget (and I mean this to the cheaters) is that this is a game. There is no need to cheat. That said, you basically put down your own idea because as you stated there are unusual situations that arise such as payroll/revenue. If this were to be left up to the computer on all instances then on the fast leagues if you needed to make a quick trade you would then need to contact a human moderator to make a decision. Who knows, it very well could be legit but having to take all these steps would make it anything but a quick trade, expecially if its close to the trading deadline and your team needs to win a few to take it to the series. I hope you see where I am going here. I do like the idea but it think it would be hard to implement except in the most lopsided of circumstances. Also great defense/poor offense players are graded much lower than great offense/poor defense players so it would be difficult for the computer to figure out what the players involved intentions were.

Not allways good to limit human trades.
I currently have the Marlins in one league. I went out during one offseason and bought all I could. I figured I coud win for a year or two and get my attendance up to make up some money, but in the long run I knew I would loose. Well, now that Atlanta and NY have Bought even better playes, I have not sniffed even second place.
I now have to trade off my players. I know that I am not going to fair market value (FMV). If I wnt to trade Cliff Floyd for two or three promising AAA players, it may look bad to the AI, but I am gaining about 45 points in payroll.
It is very hard to get an AI to value that.
