Are there any other fans of the CM/FM series here? To me, that's the only sports management series that is as good/better than Mogul...

Count me in. I love Football Manager and, to be quite honest, as good as BBM is, Football Manager surpasses it on detail, immersion, strategy...in fact almost everything.

Are you playing FM 2006 at all? I've just started my first real game after a few weeks of messing around with it. Decided to run both the English Leagues and the US Major League. My team is L.A. and I plan to move over to (hopefully) manage Chelsea once I've cut my teeth and built a rep in the American League.

Yes, I am playing FM06. I like it- but it seems a lot tougher than 05. And I don't know why. I played a few games as Rangers (Glasgow), and was getting my teeth kicked in by teams like Hearts and Hibs. And that just shouldn't happen.
Then I tried a few more teams for a game or two, and got beat huge again.
So, I tried Liverpool- and went on a 10 game winning streak (including beating Man U 6-1) before sinking into oblivion. The only thing I did differently with Liverpool than I did in prior games was that I just stuck with a 4-4-2.
I do like playing MLS in the FM/CM series, it's just kind of frustrating to not have the cash or reputation to bring ANYONE in from other leagues.
You're right- FM is probably a better game than Mogul. But I play them both about the same amount of time. When I have the time and energy to decide what colour shoelaces my strikers will wear, I play FM06. On the other hand, when I want to relax it's mogul time.

Probably not something you want reminding about but .... irl Hearts are currently 2nd in the table above Rangers and I recall Hibs have beaten them at least once this season.

OMG Marc Vaughn, and other Cm/Fm'ers!!! unbelievable. i didn't know you guys knew about Mogul. Good to see other fellow cross overs. Been playing CM, and the Fm series for the last 6 years or so and have enjoyed them thoroughly. Mogul is the best game besides those when it comes to sims. Keep up the good work SI!

I play FM06 too. I first got turned on to soccer sims with Universal Soccer Manager. GREAT game. it even has a mode with drawings of men for the in-game part. It also allowed you to create your own set-pieces. The only problem with it is that there is no real method for new players to enter the game (at least not a good one), so it was only really playable for a few seasons, but man, were those few seasons fun!

im still using FM2005 (wasnt thrilled with the 2006 demo), but i'm eagerly awaiting FM2007.

i usually play in the Spanish leagues (sevilla, celta, murcia are my favs), but i also like to play small, weak leagues in odd places (africa, caribbean, central america).

If you like coaching small counties, you should try Austarlia\'s A-League!
