Which of the following players would you vote to elect to the Hall Of Fame?
Rick Aguilera, Albert Belle, Bert Blyleven, Will Clark, Dave Concepcion, Andre Dawson, Gary Gaetti, Steve Garvey, Dwight Gooden, Rich Gossage, Ozzie Guillen, Orel Hershiser, Tommy John, Don Mattingly, Willie McGee, Jack Morris, Dale Murphy, Dave Parker, Jim Rice, Lee Smith, Bruce Sutter, Alan Trammell
Vote for as many as you want.

Much as I like Rice (I'm a Sox fan too) and Dawson I cannot vote for them. They were both great players, but not at the level I feel should be reached for Hall consideration.

Looks like at least 12 Yankee fans voted though. 12 votes for Mattingly?
I limited myself to 10 votes, just like BBWAA members are limited to in their selections. I voted for Blyleven, Clark, Dawson, Garvey, Gossage, John, Morris, Rice, Smith, Sutter, and Trammell.
EDIT: I didn't vote for Smith; I have no idea why I listed him as someone I had voted for. :o

Bert was always a good pitcher he's been on the ballot for awhile. I wonder if he'll have to die before he gets in the hall.

in the era the played in, they were the best, that is why they get my vote....If they played in there primes in the 90's there stats would be unbelieveable...they were the best in the league in the 70-80's....

I know what they did in their era but I always thought that the hall was for players who transcended all eras. I think that the hall has been watered down and it should stop before it turns into a rock and roll hall of fame sort of place. Maybe they should have exhibits for the great players somewhere in Cooperstown, maybe down the street in another building. Just don't want to see them in the hall. Do they compare with the true greats like Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, or Cy Young? I don't think that they measure up to that level of greatness, and all inductees should.

I am surpised that Orel Hersh. is #1 in this poll.

I was surprised to see Orel at the top too. What do you think caused that? He was very good but this is surprising.

I was suprised to see Dave Parker only have 11 votes, out of most of these players, him and Andre, those two are probably the most likey to get in...than Don Mattingly having 22 votes...
it just shows how uneducated fans are, and that having sport writers vote players in is so much better than having fans vote players in.....
out of all the people besides sutter(who is already in)
Should be in,
Rich Gossage
Jack Morris
Dave Parker
Andre Dawson
Possible:
Bert Blyleven (where do you draw the line? but he should be in)
Albert Belle (the most feared hitter in the American league in the 90's)
not HOF MATERIAL:
Don Mattingly (if his peak of his playing career lasted longer than 5 years, he would be a first ballot, but all other years, he was just average, thou he was the namesake of the yankee franchise from the 80's to mid 90's)
all others, i havent researched enough...

I don't think it was weaker competittion. They were all just so far ahead of what anybody else could do that they stood out more in their eras. Look at Sandy Koufax, Jim Palmer and Bob Gibson in their era. Mantle in his, the 70's - 80'S had George Brett and Nolan Ryan, the 80's - 90's had Roger Clemens, Randy Johnson, Greg Maddux, and Ricky Henderson. There are always some who are far better than their peers and only these guys should be in the hall. No one should get in because they were good or even very good. They should only get in if they were great. The veterans comittee is doing a poor job of choosing too. They often let in buddies and are actively lobbied by owners, players and media to let some undeserving players in. It needs to stop before the Hall is full of pretty good players.

The only time in his screenshot is when he was last active in the upper right, and the date and time Clay created the post.

To distract our conversation on bumping, I voted Belle, Blyvlen, Morris and Trammell. Blyvlen and Morris, it's pathetic their not in. I always believe that if Morris hadn't been such a bulldog with the media he would have got in soon. Blyvlen, I just don't understand how he can't be in, his career numbers are fantastic, I guess it's just when you look at that era he dosen't jump out as one of the most dominating.
Trammell, he's more borderline. I think him and Lou Whitaker need to share a plaque.
Belle, another example of media bulldog and flat out mean dude.
Why isn't Ron Santos on there? I think he goes down as one of the biggest injustices.
