This is clearly evidence that we need to punish all law-abiding gun owners with cumbersome laws because one person didn't teach their child about gun safety.

I was taught at a very early age how to shoot and all about gun safety. It seems to be people who are completely ignorant of all safety and shooting skills that are the problem. We need to keep these people from easy gun access. The training courses should take at least two years for people who know nothing or were not raised around firearms. Many people who have no problems have spent their entire lives around guns and you just can't teach that kind of lifelong knowledge in a short "firearms safety" class.
