Choices are:


Designate whenever you have one you want, for up to 5 years.
Designate every 5 years (2005, 2010, etc)
$4,000,000 per year
$5,000,000 per year

I believe teams should be able to name a player who has been on your team a minimum of 5 years a franchise player.

the Franchise Player should then be on your team on 1 year contracts that would need to be renewed every year.

The Contract Amount for Franchise Players should be $2,000,000 and the players would be completely untradeable. (If you want to be able to trade him, don't use the Franchise tag on him).
