All that makes sense. As I said, i'm OK with extra taxation for the uber rich, it's needed as the wealth disparity is alarming and I agree the system is broken. But NONE of that has anything to do with someone inheriting anothers fortunes and NONE of that should matter to whether or not someone "earned" it or not in a manner deemed appropriate by you or anyone else. I don't care how they got the cash...they have it. Sure I respect the heck out of the guy who makes something out of nothing...

And what's wrong with Paris Hilton? She was young and did dumb sh!t? Throw me in that boat. Forget the hotel empire, she doesn't run that of course but she has built a clothing, entertainment and perfume line employing many across the globe directly & indirectly and she's involving herself in philanthropic work regularly. Who's the person that gauges when someone has done enough with their inheritance to earn praise? I don't know much about the Kardashians, but I'd venture they aren't as...

much of that depends upon people viewing the wealthy as "better and should be idolized". The money was earned by someone. If they want to give it to their offspring, to cancer research, to fighting global hunger, to taco bell...it doesn't matter. If the kids a **** human being because he or she's had a diamond spoon shoved up their a$s from birth and never learned how to be decent than they have to go through life as a **** human being. You know what else is a **** human being? Someone who...

no doubt income inequality is a major issue right now. The real problem is that we know it's alot easier to make money if one has money. "It takes money to make money" rings true more often than not. Those with massive wealth can simply easily live on the profit made through smart investment of it. Because of that they SHOULD be taxed much higher...even if the 1% pays the vast majority of our tax burden already. It's not enough. The tax code however lets them shelter much of their profits...

This is what I mean when I keep saying that one of the biggest reasons I refuse to identify myself as a liberal, or really support them, is that they don't know when to stop.

Here we have a whole thread filled with liberal apologists that are defending the mosque/community center for one single reason (which they won't admit of course): It's a minority group in this country.

They found a cause (support the minority group!) and they'll defend it at all costs, even though all the excuses they use are exactly the opposite of what they post when they talk about catholics/christians. They even take shots at christianity in the same thread where they're defending islam, and somehow can't see the contradiction.

I think my favorite part was seeing three of them pretend to think a German center opening next to a Holocaust Museum would be just dandy, because admitting how bad an idea that would be means they'd have to give ground on their Yay Muslim Building stance.
