Running Baseball Mogul on a Mac?

    Hey All,

I've had many inquiries about Baseball Mogul being available for the Mac. We've looked into the programming required to create a NATIVE Mac version, and it's just not something we can tackle right now.

The good news is that I've heard a lot of people have success running Baseball Mogul on a Mac using a Windows emulator. I would love to share this info with Mac users, but I know very little about the platform these.

So, I'm starting this thread to get people to share their experiences running Mogul on a Mac. Hopefully we can come to a consensus as to what solution to recommend to Mac users that would really like to be able to player Mogul.

    Thanks!

    Bootcamp is not an emulator.

(edited/added):You need a copy of Vista or XP to run with it.

If I were a Mac user, I'd ask the Macmakers about it....it would be in the Company's interests to enable their clients to play BM on Macs.

The problem is Clay, that most effective emulators require a lot of money-either for purchasing the emulator, or sometimes, a whole new computer if you can't upgrade yours enough for the system requirements needed to download the emulators.

Well, that's part of the price people pay for not purchasing a "Wintel" box these days...

Wintel is basically a term for a microsoft operating system and a AMD or Intel chip.

If you don't purchase a Wintel box, you run into compablity problems.

Some of the newer Apple Computers have half the Wintel, but don't have the first half...so it cost more to make it a wintel machine.

Baseball Mogul usually only runs on compatiable wintel machines...you could almost use the term wintel, as how IBM was the term for PC up until the mid 90's. When the term IBM and PC were basically the same thing...

I have one of the new Intel Macs, and use Boot Camp. So basically, I can boot my laptop as a Mac or a Windows machine. And as a windows PC, it screams. So Baseball Mogul, Civ4, C&C3, etc. all play perfectly. I love it, I've got best of both worlds in one great laptop.

Really, I think that's the only "solution" for Mac "compatibility". Like Clay said, it would take too much work and still probably wouldn't work well to create a set of actual mac (or Linux, for that matter) binaries.
