    MLB Talk

A new thread to talk about Major League Baseball.

Please keep it about baseball. Personal rants, jokes, pranks, spoofs, arguments, etc. should be conducted in 'Out In Left Field'.

    Thanks!

    Clay

    P.S. No pubes, please.

How about Carl Crawford and six steals in one game!

Amazing. Was listening on radio. Does that mean that Tek can't throw anymore. Or Brad Penny has a horrible move. Or the Red Sox coaches just don't care about catching runners?

well the Rays stole what 8 bases all together? and it wasn't all on Brad Penny ( I don't believe) either way, that was ridiculous. The Rays must have found some hole in a step by the pitchers or something. I believe the Rays simply outscouted and found a loophole that they were able to exploit. Good for Crawford, I really like him as a player.

I hope OldFatGuy had him on one of his fantasy baseball teams. He needs a break.

Or maybe it's just that Carl is good at stealing bases?

    It's a combination of both.

Only 4 players in history have pulled off 6 steals in a game - Crawford, Eric Young, Otis Nixon, and Eddie Collins (who did it twice).

I'm disappointed in CC Sabathias overall performance with the Yanks so far!

Last year, through 4 starts, he had a 13.50 ERA.

    Fear not.

I was there and saw it. Penny gave away his motion - he kepy doing this final sigh, where his shoulders dropped. I was sitting in the first row, behind the Rays bullpen; I had the same line of sight as Crawford. when he dropped his shoulders, it meant he was pitching to the plate, and Crawford took advantage of that. Gave him and extra second of jump.

On the others, V-Tek didn't throw on one, tried to throw but bobble the ball on another. And Crawford is just fast. Tough to throw out.

But Penny's shoulder slumping thing really bothered me. I mean c'mon! Hold your runner, don't make it obvious.

And on Sabathia, would you be as disapointed if he didn't get the check he did every two weeks?

Dexter Fowler had 5 SB earlier this year and look at how much media he got LOL. It's just funny how little the "forgotten" time zone gets recognized
