How people in baseball mogul leagues think:
Me: Hey man, just wondering what RP John Doe would cost me
Him: Not really looking to move him right now
Me: Ok, just figured with you being 12 games under .500 & 9 GB of the second wildcard spot already (in June), that a 35 year old RP would be available for prospects or draft picks
Him: Well, could I get SP Matt Awesome from you (a 26 year old 88/88 SP with a sub-2 ERA, 2.72 DICE & a very team friendly contract for the next 5 years)
Also, this was quite depressing, even if it was highly unlikely that he would repeat his previous season's success with Cleveland.
I hate injuries :/
EDIT: A-Rod is leading the Majors with a 9.4 WAR after August despite the fact he's hitting .283/.417/.512/.929 with 25 HR and 67 RBI. The next closest is Nomar at 7.7 with .343/.413/.606/1.019. The whole WAR system seems to be off

Ok, anyone that played Mogul back in the day knows that a catcher's handling (range in the old games) used to have a large impact on a pitching staff's success (or lack thereof)
However, I decided to see what kind of effect a catcher's defense has on the current incarnation of mogul
So I started up a version with modern roster's (I guess it's a version of HGM's rosters) & picked the Rangers b/c I felt they had a good catcher to judge this on (Mike Napoli). Here's a pic of Mr Napoli:
As you can see, pretty good arm & good fielding, but close to the bottom in terms of handling & range. So I set both injury settings to -100%, set Scouting & Medical to perfect & Medical Impact to +100% (there will be no injuries & the AI will play the best players, so there should be as little variance as possible)
Simmed 20 seasons & only took down the team era each time b/c I'm kind of lazy, but if there is any noticeable effect, I feel like it should be able to be seen somewhat in team ERA
Lowest Team ERA over the span was 4.04. Highest was 4.80. Average ERA was 4.32. If I take out the lowest & the highest, It drops to 4.28
I then changed Napoli's defensive vitals, as can be seen in this sensational screenshot:
Much better range & handling. So, after 20 sims with this defensive stud behind the plate, how much did our average Team ERA drop?
The Lowest Team ERA was 3.99. The highest was 4.65. So, our lowest was lower than previously & our highest was lower than it was previously. However, the average Team ERA was 4.33 & if we took out the highest & lowest, the average stayed at 4.33. It would appear that if there is any effect from range or handling, that it would have to do with pitching consistency (less extremes), but would have little to no effect on pitching performance long term
Maybe if someone did 50 sims apiece, or 100, instead of 20 that some kind of effect would begin to be noticed. But, as it stands with 20 sims each, there's not much difference between pitching performance & a catcher's handling. I'd venture a guess that as it stands now in BM13, a catcher's arm is probably the most valuable defensive vital they have

Just had a 14-run 8th inning against the Red Sox, every run coming with two outs.
Holy ****.
3 of my final 4 series are against teams I am contending with in my division, including a finale with the Yankees. This is definitely one of the best Mogul playoff races I've ever been a part of.
Greatest 10-game streak ever?
His season stats: .478/.533/.1.119, 13 HR, 32 RBI in 16 games
