I realise I am fairly new to this forum (and forums in general, this being the only one I've ever joined) so maybe my feelings won't hold much weight but....is it really ethical to discuss the "playing" of OOTP in the BM forums? Comparisons between the two as in another sub-forum are one thing but this seems a little insulting to the developer(s) at least. Doesn't OOTP have its own forums for this sort of thing? I was very surprised when I saw who had begun the thread! I also wonder about its placement since it is not really "Sports Talk" but rather sports gaming talk. Advance apologies if I'm stepping on toes but that is how I see it.

I don't think there's any problem. This thread isn't just for OOTP. It's for any baseball sim talk - Mogul, OOTP, console games, whatever.

Same goes for video game threads and fantasy baseball threads. This was brought up a while ago when mods were moving such threads to Sports Games. I think it fits fine under both categories and don't see it as that big of a deal. This forum is frequented at a much higher rate, so I put it here so more people will see it.

I enjoy whenever I'm playing (in Mogul or OOTP) and have my pitcher up to the plate, but am going too fast and forget to bunt, and then my pitcher does something cool. In my Rays game in Mogul just now, playing the Braves in interleague, I had a runner on first and forgot to bunt with Matt Garza and he knocked a single. Earlier in the season in my Diamondbacks game in OOTP, I was down 2 runs with the bases loaded in the late innings. My reliever, Blane Boyer, was due up and I forgot to pinch hit and he socked a bases-clearing, go-ahead triple.

Took me a while to find this because I couldn't remember where I had read it, but I agree completely with this quote from this thread.

Probably my favorite feature about Baseball Mogul is this simple fact: if you had a discussion like this about Baseball Mogul on the OOTP boards you would be shut down and if you started another thread you'd get banned. I'm glad Clay understands that both games are good and that some of us buy both games - although I haven't bought OOTP in a few years - last year's demo didnt grok with me.

Another awful trade in OOTP that I had to reverse. Twins sent Michael Cuddyer and a prospect to the Mets for Fernando Tatis and a prospect.

Colby Lewis pitched a perfect game against the A's in my game (not on my team). Struck out 10.

A month later, Lewis tossed ANOTHER perfect game!! This time it was against the mariners.

Just got trounced by the Cardinals, 16-5. Pablo effin' Ozuna went 5 for 5, hitting for the cycle, and drove in 8 runs.
