2001 Seattle Mariners- Recreating the Magic?

I will do a dynasty about the '01 Mariners. This will be on BBM06, which works fine for my needs. I will be playing on Mogul difficulty, and trying not to embarrass myself.

Syracuse is threatening, and, for the Knights, Tony Jacobs is throwing up in the bullpen

Re: 2001 Seattle Mariners- Recreating the Magic?

    Catcher- Dan Wilson (76/76) 1.1M thru 2003
An adequate hitter, and an adequate fielder. He's okay.

    Bench- Tom Lampkin (71/71) 650K thru 2002
Ugh. Why do I have a backup catcher, that can't even catch? His defense ratings are in the 60's!

    AAA- Pat Borders (67/67) 590K thru 2003
He's even worse than Lampkin and I have to rely on him as my third catcher? Oyvay.

First Base- John Olerud (88/88) 6.2M thru 2005
Olerud's quite good actually, but, on the dark side, he's also quite expensive. If the season goes awry, he could get flipped at the deadline.

AA- Bucky Jacobsen (66/78) Minor League Contract
Okay, scratch that last. I can't trade Olerud. I can't trade Olerud because If I do, I'm stuck with this guy. It's not that Jacobsen's bad, but, he's just not ready for the big leagues yet.

Second Base- Bret Boone (84/84) 4.2M thru 2006
Boone's not really that bad, actually. He can hit, he can field, he's just not insanely good at anything. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with him till 2006.

    Bench- Mark Mclemore (68/68) 2.2M thru 2001
Mac's just getting plain old. Yeah, he can play six positions, but he can't play any of them well. Thank god his contract runs out after this year.

AA- Mickey Lopez (58/72) Minor League Contract
Roster filler. Period. He's 27. He's noot going anywhere.

R- Luis Ugueto (59/84) Minor League Contract
Now, this is probably our 2nd baseman of the future

    SS- Carlos Guillen (74/80) 327K thru 2003
Okay, now he's not bad, but he shouldn't be a star. Somewhere in between, probably.

AAA- Ramon Vasquez (63/68) Minor League Contract
    See Lopez, Mickey

A- Yuniesky Betancourt (60/71) Minor League Contract
Geez, I have a lot of roster filler.

R- Mike Morse (55/73) Minor League Contract
Okay, now my farm system is weak.

    Part 2 coming later.
