What is the maximum speed rating a player can have?

Of the 5 offensive ratings that show in PBP, I've seen Contact, Power, Eye, and Bunt all at 100 (although I don't think I've ever seen a player with more than 2 of them at 100). I have never seen a player with Speed of 100, having played one game from 1901 - present and now on my second game from 1901-1936 so far. This leads me to think the game cannot generate a Speed rating that high. What is the highest it can get?

I dont know either. Once saw a speed rating of 98 though. I suppose that 100 is possible.

Highest I am seen in 99...seen it a couple of times...and I am huge into stealing and playing small ball with my teams so I pay close attention to that particular rating...

Surprised that in most games in Rickey Henderson's prime his speed is like 92-94.
