    Historic Seasons and Rookies

If I play historic seasons (e.g. go back and start a career in 1980) is there a way to make sure that players drafted actually develop and play the same way they did in real life?

Under the Player Settings Menu, check the Use Historical Career Paths box.

I've never actually seen that be effective... though I keep it checked anyway. Has checking that worked for you with historical leagues? It's typical that I will have hall of famers become 3 or 4 year players and vice versa.

Honestly, I have never actually checked the Historical Career path box. I prefer the randomness factor.

He really didn't ask who did and who didn't do it, he just wanted to know how. Though since you said it I wanted to chime in with the same, lol. No point playing this game as a real life experience if you know which friggin' prospects are going to do what. Personally, I find it a LOT more intriguing to see which guys who were busts actually break through, like Brien Taylor, Mike Kelly, etc. Much more exciting than just having to have Barry Bonds break through. It's an alternate reality, so why not take advantage of it?

Well, in my alternate reality, the Atlanta Braves of the early- to mid-80s field a team with Randy Johnson and Dwight Gooden at the top of the line-up and Bo Jackson, Eric Davis and Darryl Strawberry patrolling the outfield.

I've played several careers over. Just taking a stab at just all-out domination this time around.
