Offensive Lineman 80+ peak non-existant in drafts???

I've only done 5 seasons so far in FM 2012, and for some reason all the SD Chargers O-Line are rated in the 73-76 range.

I would love to draft some Tackles/Guards/Centers who have peaks above 79 overall(highest I've seen in 3 offseasons)... [whole draft...not that they are being selected in early rounds, the league isn't getting quality OLine period.]

If this continues.. not a single OLine player will ever reach 80+ after all the real life O-Line retire. (at least those who didn't get snubbed on their ratings in the first place!)

I also never saw a fullback above 80, that's fine though...they aren't like O-Line who are very important and there are numerous skilled linemen in real life.

Is there any work around for this in FM 2012?? Am I doing something wrong?

I think it's just your current franchise.

My Steelers franchise (you can read about it in the appropriate section) I drafted 2 80+ Oline and seen a few taken before I had a chance to get them.

I notice that your doing a 1976 franchise though, so your drafts would include real life players...I was talking about the randomly generated rookies after all the real draft classes. I forgot to mention that in the original post. Thanks for the response though!

I've had this issue with FM2012's random linemen, too.

I chalked it up to either the Linemen not gaining high ratings until they're relatively older, or it could even be a generator issue. I've not played an extensively long enough years to get a sample set of lineman starting off lower than most, and then maturing slowly but quickly at the end. So I'm unsure.

I saw mention of the draft code being updated in 2013 so perhaps this received attention (if it was indeed an issue)?

I'm thinking it's bad luck in that particular franchise. I just had a draft and nabbed 3 linemen 80 and over. Their aren't a lot of great linemen getting generated and the years they appear can be few and far between. On the flip side I've also had excellent years with a team with linemen rated at 75-80 as long as they were balanced and had good discipline and stamina.
