29-game win streak, 22-game PS streak

It's getting to the point where it's in the 2030s and I'm getting to be a little much for the AI. On Mogul level in the past it usually only takes a decade into my Franchises, so this is actually a big improvement. But yeah, 29-straight, going for 30 on Opening Day, didn't sign any Free Agents to hopefully even the table a bit. Note that most of this took place after clinching, resting most of my regulars.

EDIT- For the following year, here's another addition to the fray, another sweep through the playoffs:

Nicely done! Are you doing PBP or simming? I just finished my first season doing PBP-manager mode for all 162 games and ended up 71-91 with my rebuilding 2008-2009 Padres. Also playing on Mogul level with a lot of house rule/restrictions to try and make it harder, including turning off 'peak ratings'...so things have been rough so far!

Do you play any under house rules? I've done some searching on the boards, but am always looking for more ideas!

I do play personal rules, but I do not turn off peak ratings. Ever since I got into all the various metrics I've been of the opinion that projected performances in baseball are MUCH more predictable than some give it credit for, and the game is heavily lacking in more subtle scouting aspects. I always focus on pitch selection and OBP (Contact and Eye are the only attributes I look at), as you may have noticed with my Stolen Base leader having like 12 or something.

I mix and match PBP and simming, in this case most of it happened via simulation---I'd already clinched and was cutting to the chase most of September. My personal Rule V rules didn't apply since I wasn't really making any transactions with the 40-man roster. I played 7 of the playoff games via PBP. I did, however, lose 4-3 on Opening Day with PBP, so it didn't reach 30.

ah bummer! This thread must have been a jinks! I've been considering mixing in some simming with my PBP also, very tempting to get through seasons a little faster!

Yeah, over the years the limited in-game options have increased the likelihood of me getting too bored with it to PBP every game. I did when they first animated the PBP, but pretty much every passing season, with little-to-nothing changing, I've simmed more and more. I love the draft and off-season parts more than playing the actual games. Several complaints went out from over a dozen posters, especially this past year, so I'm expecting that to change. Until then, I'm playing maybe half the games at most over a season. If I clinch early, as I did before that win streak, I'll almost always sim.

I'm coming off of a 71-91 1st season and just starting year 2:
I was off to a hot start at 10-6 (2 games in 1st place) and now I've lost 11 games in a row! and still falling!(10-17 now) My starting rotation can't record any outs all the sudden and over half my lineup is slumping hard hitting .0## over the past ten games!

Funny thing is I was starting to thinking about if I'd be able to be a contender this year and was thinking about who I could possibly deal/upgrade for a run and how I was going to work the budget...and BOOM, snap back to reality! Back to the basement where my team belongs, maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow and snap the streak!

The other thread said something about 2008. Wasn't that the year the Dodgers and Rockies were so good? SF won the title 2 years later---you're not in the best division for rebuilding. Try to fleece AZ in a deal, eliminate the closest competition.

I'm up 8-1 in NLDS Game 1. I simmed the crap out of this past season to cut to the playoff streak chase. I've been avoiding FAs and pretty much have a set lineup that youngsters aren't breaking, so little excitement or "newness" to keep me in PBP. Only played like 20-30 in one-pitch mode. I'll post when my streak finally breaks. You do the same!

It is now a 3-game playoff LOSING streak. Talk about a thread-killer.

DOH, bad time to hit a slump!

Also ya in my 1st season we had 2 NL West teams in the playoffs, was a pretty good showing for the division. Both LAD and COL made it out of the 1st round and Colorado made it to the world series and lost to the Boston.
